
Pedro Abregú was born in Buenos Aires in 1970 and started to take classes with some of the best-known tango dancers of Buenos Aires in 1996. Among the teachers that have influenced him most are: Norberto "El Pulpo" Esbrez, Rodolfo "Cacho" Dinzel, Alejandro "El Turco" Suaya, Adriana Duré, Horacio Godoy, Cristian Márquez, Julio Balmaceda and Mariano "Chicho" Frúmboli. At the first tango championship of the city arranged in Buenos Aires in 2002 he made it to the final round. Moreover he took part in shortfilms like „Dos por una es Tango" (Argentina) and „Los Reyes del Corte" (Spain), and the festival for the rediscovering of Tango Argentino in Havanna (Kuba) in 2002. In Buenos Aires he danced with the tango orchestra of the city of Buenos Aires under the direction of Raul Garello.
Katharina Sigel already made her first acquaintance with tango at the age of 15. It was in 2003, that she decided to go deeper into the passion of her youth. After having learned an art of movement, called eurythmy and playing the violin each for 12 years she easily developed a differntiated feeling for music and movement for the tango. Looking for the tangostyle suiting her best, she took classes with Gaia Pisauro, Judita und Enrique, Pablo Villarazza und Dana Frigoli, Chicho Frúmboli and Eugenia Parilla, Gabriel Glagovsky, Luis Bianchi, Julio Balmaceda and Corina de la Rosa, and Eric Jorisson.
Katharina and Pedro have been dancing and teaching together in Berlin since 2007. As a couple they develop a subtle and musical dynamic and make have make the truthful connection to the partner – the „danced embrace of the heart" – the leitmotif of their dance.
