Las Bordonas

play on Thursday and are performed by Ignacio Antonio Cedrún, Javier Ernesto Amoretti, and Martín Gabriel Creixell.

Las Bordonas pick up the traces of an original art that seemed to be extinct, they let us feel its profundity and show us how up-to-date this music still is today.

They weave through a whole century of music and settle in a genuine repertoire: That of the guitars and singers of the beginnings of the Tango in Buenos Aires, demonstrating that time disappears in matters of art.

Three guitars and a warm voice reflect the origins of Tango, reviving the pioneers of the genre. As young talents of a new generation of Tango musicians and with nearly 10 years of experience Las Bordonas have developed a very individual and highly interesting style. Complex secrets of "bordoneos", "mandolinas", and "tremolos" are revealed by the guitars, suggesting a beautiful musical scenario; and the voice reflects the art of bel canto, a vocal technique used by te first Tango singers, who combined the art of the heroic tenor of the Old World with the native art of singing of the "payadores".
